Nomorobo is a 3rd party tool that can help block some "robocalls".
Here are the steps to setup Nomorobo with CLONE LINE service, using the Simultaneous Ring feature in the online Control Panel.
Note: If you are using a PBX or Auto Attendant, add a delay of at least 2 or 3 rings (10 to 15 seconds) in your Inbound Route, to allow time for Nomorobo to intercept calls.
Step 1: Register with www.nomorobo.com and obtain your new Nomorobo intercept number. Take note of the toll free intercept number, which you will use below.
Note: CLONE LINE is not listed as a supported service, because we're a smaller provider, but it works fine. Just choose a supported service, like AT&T Uverse or Verizon Fios, when signing up. As long as you get a toll free number to use, it should work.
Step 2: Log into the CLONE LINE Control Panel at controlpanel.voisip.com and go to Features > Simultaneous Ring.
Note: If you don't know your control panel password, log into your account's email history on our website and find your Password Summary email. Or contact us to have it sent again.
Step 3: Set "Find me with" to "Ring All".
Step 4: Set Primary Line to ring between 15 and 60 seconds (5 seconds for each ring).
Note: This should be set LONGER than your number of rings in the Voicemail tab, otherwise unanswered calls may not reach voicemail.
Step 5: Enter your Nomorobo intercept number in the 2nd destination, and set it to ring for 60 seconds.
Step 6: Check the Auto Answer box for the 2nd destination.
Step 7: Click the Save button to complete setup.
Now inbound calls will ring your CLONE LINE phone AND the Nomorobo intercept number at the same time.
If the Call ID is from a known telemarketer, Nomorobo will answer the call and you will only hear 1 ring.
Regular calls will be ignored by Nomorobo. So if you get a 2nd ring, you can proceed to answer the call.
If any telemarketer calls slip though, you can notify Nomorobo, or use other voiSip features to block it, such as Telemarketer Blocking, or Custom Call Routing.
