Backup and Restore PBX Settings

These instructions may vary depending on your software and module versions.

FreePBX usually has a default backup already setup.  

If you need to create a new backup action, do the following:

1. Log into your pbx
2. Go to Admin > Backup and Restore
3. Click + New Backup button
4. Enter a name and description, along with any other desired options
5. Drag the Template "Full Backup" or other template to the title row of the items list, until you see "drop here"
6. Drage the available server "Local Storage" to the Storage Servers list
7. Set a Schedule to Run Automatically
8. Set a Maintenance schedule to Delete After so many days, weeks, months or years (12 months recommended)
9. Click the Save button

Once you have a Backup item, you can manually run the backup as follows.

1. Click the Play button (circle with triangle play icon)
2. Allow a few seconds or minutes for backup to complete

To Save a local copy, or Restore a backup, do the following

1. Click the floating List icon on far right side of the backup item list
2. Click "Restore"
3. Click the Browse tab
4. Click Local Storage
5. Click a backup folder
6. Click a specific backup file you want to copy or restore
7. Click Download to save the backup file to your local drive

IMPORTANT:  If you perform Restore action, anything you have not saved will be LOST!!!

8. Click Go! to restore the saved file settings, overwriting your current settings.  Current settings will be LOST!!!

To import a backup from a local drive to your pbx, do the following:

1. From the Restore page, click Import tab
2. Click the Browse button, select your preferred backup file, and click Open button
3. Proceed with caution to Restore.  All unsaved settings will be LOST!!!
